Kevin Knox of
Tampa Catholic (Fla.) committed to Kentucky via Twitter. The decision was a bit of a stunner as not one of the 23 experts making predictions for the
247Sports Crystal Ball had Lexington pegged as his destination.
Knox chose Kentucky over Duke (which carried 87 percent of Crystal Ball predictions), Florida State, Missouri and North Carolina.
The 6-foot-8 forward is regarded at the No. 10 overall recruit in the senior class by 247Sports. Knox averaged 28.9 points and 11.3 rebounds per game in leading the Crusaders to the Florida Class 5A state championship game this season.
Once a promising quarterback prospect, Knox was named the MaxPreps National Junior of the Year in 2015-16. He followed that by earning MaxPreps All-American honors once again this season.
Knox has been part of two USA Basketball gold medal teams, winning international competitions in Spain and Argentina. He also participated in the McDonald's All-American Game and Nike Hoop Summit following the 2016-17 season.

Kevin Knox led Tampa Catholic to a 25-6 record as a senior.
