Softball Game Preview: Canyon Hills Rattlers vs. Southwest EC Eagles

The Canyon Hills Rattlers will square off against the Southwest EC Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Canyon Hills 2.3, Southwest EC 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Canyon Hills is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let Morse get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Rattlers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.

Not much got past Natalye Debus, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Morse off the board. Debus has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Canyon Hills saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaylyn Avery, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Southwest EC entered their tilt with Canyon Hills on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Rattlers.

Alexis Trujillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits.

At the plate, Delylah Santiago was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Southwest EC's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Canyon Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 19-9.

Canyon Hills came up short against Southwest EC in their previous matchup on Friday, falling 6-1. Can the Rattlers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
