Softball Recap: Strongsville Takes a Loss

Saturday just wasn't the day for Strongsville's offense. They fell just short of the Maplewood Rockets by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Mustangs have suffered since May 7, 2025.

Addison Heidenhoffer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Adriana Maenza was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Strongsville's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-8. As for Maplewood, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 13-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Rockets beat Strongsville by a score of 2-0 later that day.
