Recap: El Dorado Wildcats vs. Collegiate Spartans
The El Dorado Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by Collegiate 63-31. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points El Dorado has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why El Dorado lost, one person who can't be blamed is Trace Fowler. Despite the final result, he scored nine points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Fowler grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Greene, who scored eight points along with three steals.
El Dorado's defeat was their 15th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-8. As for Collegiate, they now have a winning record of 5-4-1.
El Dorado will head out on the road to challenge Augusta at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Augusta presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than El Dorado in Kansas (Augusta is ranked 136th, while El Dorado is ranked 279th). As for Collegiate, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Winfield. Winfield comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
