Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Area Falcons vs. Perry Pirates

Jefferson Area hasn't had much luck against Perry recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Jefferson Area Falcons will host the Perry Pirates at 6:45 p.m. One thing working in Jefferson Area's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.

Last Saturday, Jefferson Area beat Lakeview 61-51.

Meanwhile, Perry posted their biggest victory since February 27, 2024 on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 79-42 win over North. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while the Rangers are ranked 403rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jefferson Area pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Perry, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.

Jefferson Area came up short against Perry when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 58-45. Can Jefferson Area avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
