Volleyball Recap: Kinston Takes a Loss

After flying high against Tarboro on Tuesday, Kinston came back down to earth. The Vikings lost 3-0 to the Ayden - Grifton Chargers on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 9th.

The final score came out to 25-5, 25-11, 25-11.

Ayden - Grifton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olivia Baker, who had ten assists and two aces.

Kinston's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Ayden - Grifton, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Kinston will head out to take on Greene Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ayden - Grifton, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Mountain Island Charter on the 26th.
