Recap: Van Buren Bulldogs vs. Bismarck Indians
The Van Buren Bulldogs suffered their biggest loss since November 27, 2023 on Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 57-34 walloping at the hands of Bismarck. While losing is never fun, Van Buren can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while Bismarck is ranked 192nd).
Leading Bismarck to victory were Ashley Hawkins and Halie Dickey. Hawkins scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Dickey scored 19 points along with five assists and three steals. Hawkins hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Randazzo, who scored 14 points.
Van Buren's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Bismarck, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Lesterville the next time they take the court. Bismarck will host Lesterville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Van Buren will host them at 5:00 p.m. on January 30th.
