Softball Recap: C.H. Yoe Comes Up Short

C.H. Yoe had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 10-18 to make it four. They came up short against the Thrall Tigers, falling 6-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 on Tuesday.

As for Thrall, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-7. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 15 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Thrall's part, not much got past Miley Pokorny, who gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks to keep C.H. Yoe off the board. Pokorny has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Reese Madsen and Riley Luton did most of the damage at the plate: Madsen went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs, while Luton went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Kenzie Engelke was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. C.H. Yoe will face off against rival Rogers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Thrall is set to challenge their familiar foe Lexington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
