Recap: Alcester-Hudson Cubs vs. Bon Homme Cavaliers
The Alcester-Hudson Cubs were the 61-58 winner over the Bon Homme Cavaliers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Alcester-Hudson took a 46-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bon Homme. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Alcester-Hudson has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Alcester-Hudson still got an impressive performance from Ethan Bovill, who scored 11 points along with three steals. The matchup was Bovill's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Jose Topete-lopez was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Alcester-Hudson struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Alcester-Hudson and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Bon Homme, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alcester-Hudson will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Avon at 7:45 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Bon Homme will finish 2023 at home by hosting Gayville-Volin at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Dakota (Gayville-Volin is ranked 85th, while Bon Homme is ranked 91st).
