Football Recap: Cabrini Piles Up the Points Against Parkway Christian

Cabrini won the last time they faced Parkway Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Monarchs breezed past the Eagles to the tune of 42-6. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Monarchs just coasted through the last quarter.

Cabrini's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Bergdoll, who threw for 224 yards and five touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. That's the most passing yards Bergdoll has posted since back in September of 2024. Jace Cetnar was in the mix as well, providing Cabrini with two scores.

Cabrini didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Noah Roman, Cetnar, and Eddie Hughes picked up one apiece. Roman got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

When it comes to explaining why Parkway Christian lost, don't look at Zaheem Cannon. Despite the final result, he picked up 54 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 83 yards.

Cabrini has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 14 points this season. As for Parkway Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Cabrini didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-7 win against Lutheran Northwest on the 12th. As for Parkway Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-8 defeat against Lutheran on the 13th.
