Baseball Game Preview: Blackstone Valley RVT Beavers vs. Pentucket Regional

The Blackstone Valley RVT Beavers will head out to face off against Pentucket Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Blackstone Valley RVT fell victim to Diman RVT and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Bengals by a score of 1-0. Considering the last time the Beavers couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, Pentucket Regional won against Triton Regional on Saturday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Sunday. Pentucket Regional had just enough and edged out Georgetown 3-1. Surprisingly, this marked Pentucket Regional's fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Patrick Stewart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Pentucket Regional is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Pentucket Regional saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ted Cloutier, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Cloutier has posted since back in April.

Blackstone Valley RVT's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Pentucket Regional, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
