Basketball Recap: Mt. Zion Takes a Loss

Mt. Zion's tournament run continued when they took on Triad on Monday. The Mt. Zion Braves came up short against the Triad Knights, falling 57-35. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Knights are ranked 50th).

Mt. Zion's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Triad, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Zion will venture away from home to square off against Paris at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Triad, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Jersey at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
