Volleyball Recap: Havelock Takes a Loss

Havelock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Northside - Jacksonville Monarchs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Monarchs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-17, 20-25, 25-23.

Northside - Jacksonville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sa'Niyah Serrano, who had ten digs and three aces. That's the most digs Serrano has posted over her last six contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Blasingame, who had 14 digs and three aces.

Havelock's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Northside - Jacksonville, their victory ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Havelock will face off against rival Swansboro at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Northside - Jacksonville is set to square off against their familiar foe Dixon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
