Softball Recap: Shelley's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Shelley unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 13-9 to the Blackfoot Broncos. The Russets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Broncos from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Shelley got a massive performance out of Carlie Hurd, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sarah Kidman, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Shelley's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Blackfoot, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

While Shelley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
