Basketball Recap: TCBAA Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

TCBAA had lost seven straight, but after bumping their record up to 5-12 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mid-Michigan HomeSchoolers Mustangs, sneaking past 51-49. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

As for Mid-Michigan HomeSchoolers, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points over those games.

When it comes to explaining why Mid-Michigan HomeSchoolers lost, don't look at Tay Givens. Despite the final result, he posted 27 points. Givens is becoming a predictor of the Mustangs' success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 3-1 (and 4-13 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Wyper, who scored eight points.

TCBAA has already played their next matchup (against Interlochen Arts Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Mid-Michigan HomeSchoolers, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-45 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 21st.
