Softball Recap: Midland's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

After losing to Frenship the last time they met, Midland decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bulldogs walked away with a 6-2 win over the Tigers on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won five contests in a row.

Malayah Carillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Bree Battenfelder was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Weir, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Midland pushed their record up to 26-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Frenship, they moved to 20-3 with that loss, which also ended their 17-game winning streak.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Midland is set to square off against their familiar foe Odessa at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Frenship will take on rival Midland Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
