Volleyball Recap: Highland Park Takes a Loss

Highland Park lost against Maine West back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Giants fell 2-0 to the Warriors.

Highland Park might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Maine West: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 28-26.

Maine West had a senior duo take command as Peter Dempsey had five kills and four digs and Jake Mathew had 15 digs and one assist. Dempsey has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 23 times he's played.

Highland Park's loss dropped their record down to 21-12. As for Maine West, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-5 record this season.

Highland Park is taking a road trip to take on Maine East at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Maine West, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Prospect on the 15th.
