Basketball Recap: Gibbs Takes a Loss

Gibbs lost against Anderson County back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Gibbs Eagles were beaten by the Anderson County Mavericks 75-45. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Mavericks are ranked 132nd).

Gibbs' loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Anderson County, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gibbs has already played their next match (against Union County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Anderson County will take on Clinton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Anderson County is facing Clinton at the right time seeing as Clinton is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
