Softball Recap: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Grant Generals
Roosevelt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Grant Generals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Roughriders of the 14-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.
Elliot Neves made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Zulaykha Armstrachan was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Grant, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-6.
Roosevelt has already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Lincoln on the 8th. As for Grant, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 7-6 loss against McDaniel on the 8th.
