Basketball Game Preview: Pelahatchie Chiefs vs. Provine Rams + Official Tickets

The Pelahatchie Chiefs will face off against the Provine Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pelahatchie is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59 points per game this season.

Pelahatchie blew Leake County out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Leake County got their revenge. The Chiefs fell just short of the Gators by a score of 64-62.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Zion Grant, who shot 58% from beyond the arc on his way to 33 points and three steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 18 points per game. Laterrion Irvin was another key player, going 7-for-8 en route to 14 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Provine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. The contest between the Rams and Murrah didn't end well, with the Rams falling 72-53. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by exactly 19 points.

Provine's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Pelahatchie, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Pelahatchie came out on top in a nail-biter against Provine when the teams last played back in November of 2024, sneaking past 64-62. Will the Chiefs repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
