Baseball Game Preview: Chaminade Red Devils vs. De Smet Jesuit Spartans

The Chaminade Red Devils will head out to challenge the De Smet Jesuit Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chaminade has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 1st.

Chaminade came up short against Webster Groves on Monday, falling 14-4.

Chaminade got a good showing from Harrison Burt, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

At the plate, Jackson Miller was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

De Smet Jesuit never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Hillsboro on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hawks a 10-0 shutout. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Spartans' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

De Smet Jesuit moved to 6-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Chaminade, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Chaminade couldn't quite finish off De Smet Jesuit in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
