Recap: Union Area Scotties vs. Carlynton Cougars
The Union Area Scotties were the 75-55 winner over the Carlynton Cougars when they last played one another back in March of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Union Area fell just short of Carlynton by a score of 52-50. Union Area just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Union Area's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lucas Stanley, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and five steals, and Braylon Thomas who scored 19 points along with three steals. The matchup was Stanley's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayne Johnke, who scored five points.
Union Area has fallen quite a ways from their 25-4 record last season and are now at 3-8. As for Carlynton, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union Area will take on Cornell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cornell is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Carlynton, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Rochester at 7:30 p.m. Rochester is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
