Baseball Recap: Peyton Triumphs

Peyton had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Hoehne Farmers.

The team relied heavily on Bryce Love, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Zayden Ebbert was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Peyton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hoehne only posted an OBP of .320.

Hoehne now has a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Peyton Panthers challenge Swink Lions at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Swink will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Peyton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hoehne, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 23-4 victory against Wiley on the 21st.
