Baseball Game Preview: Kickapoo Panthers vs. Seneca Indians

Kickapoo is 0-9-1 against Seneca since April of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Panthers will take on the Indians at 5:00 p.m. Kickapoo has given up an average of 8.5 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Kickapoo came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-2 to De Soto. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Seneca waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Silver Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted since May 23, 2025.

The team relied heavily on Jackson Konichek, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Jax Wall was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Kickapoo's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Seneca, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Kickapoo has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Seneca struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
