Softball Recap: Sioux Falls Christian Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

Sioux Falls Christian had won three straight on the road, but on Thursday they bumped their record up to 11-11 to make it four. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Wagner Red Raiders. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Chargers also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Sioux Falls Christian got a massive performance out of Dehlia Doop-Blanchard, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Maya Nelson, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

As for Wagner, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

On Wagner's side, Lydia Yost put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Yost was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

Yost wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mara Wright, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Ravyn Medricky also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Coming up, Sioux Falls Christian will host Canton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Wagner, they will head out to face off against Colome on Monday.
