McCreary Central's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Oneida Indians 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won four in a row.

Riley Newman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kolton Summers, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tristen West, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

McCreary Central's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Oneida, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-17.

McCreary Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
