Mount Miguel won the last time they faced El Capitan and things went their way on Friday too. The Matadors blew past the Vaqueros 42-10. The game marked the Matadors' most dominant victory of the season.

Jeremiah Loper was his usual excellent self, throwing for 276 yards and three TDs on only 12 passes, while also rushing for 50 yards and one score. What's more, he racked up 149.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August of 2024.

Mount Miguel didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tmarrion Williams and Khalonie Jordan.

Despite the defeat, El Capitan saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hayden Passanisi rushed for 88 yards, and also threw for 127 yards on 11 of 19 attempts.

The win made it two in a row for Mount Miguel and bumps their season record up to 7-3. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.0 points over those games. As for El Capitan, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

As of now, neither Mount Miguel nor the Vaqueros have any future games scheduled.
