Basketball Recap: Pocahontas Takes a Loss

Pocahontas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-58 heartbreaker at the hands of the Emmetsburg E'Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the E'Hawks are ranked 66th).

Pocahontas' loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Emmetsburg, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.

Pocahontas will challenge Southeast Valley at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Pocahontas is facing Southeast Valley at the right time seeing as Southeast Valley is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Emmetsburg, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-37 win against South O'Brien on the 25th.
