Baseball Game Preview: Caldwell County Tigers vs. Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons

For the second straight game, Caldwell County will face off against Madisonville-North Hopkins. The Tigers will host the Maroons at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Caldwell County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Caldwell County barely beat Madisonville-North Hopkins the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Maroons on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Maroons: they've now won four in a row.

Caldwell County got a great performance from Ethan Ramage as he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

At the plate, Ari Wells was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Luke Parker, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Madisonville-North Hopkins moved to 9-7 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Caldwell County, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal.
