Basketball Recap: Newaygo Snags 13th Win in Last 14 Games

After losing to Coopersville the last time they met, Newaygo decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Newaygo Lions took down the Coopersville Broncos 50-31 on Tuesday. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Broncos are ranked 404th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Newaygo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. Coopersville's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-17.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newaygo will host Cedar Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Coopersville, they will welcome Spring Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
