Basketball Recap: Weaver Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Piedmont, Weaver was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Randolph County Tigers by a score of 43-34. This was payback for the Bearcats, who suffered a 47-18 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the defeat, Randolph County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lydia Parmer went 6-for-9 on her way to 13 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lizzie Milam, who posted 11 points and five boards.

The victory got Weaver back to even at 6-6. As for Randolph County, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Weaver has already played their next game, a 35-25 win against Ohatchee on the 12th. As for Randolph County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 39-28 victory against Woodland on the 13th.
