Softball Game Preview: Shadow Ridge Stallions vs. Highland Hawks

The Shadow Ridge Stallions will venture away from home to take on the Highland Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Shadow Ridge nor Highland posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Shadow Ridge came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-1 to Hamilton. The defeat continues a trend for the Stallions in their meetings with the Huskies: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Highland fell victim to Pinnacle and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 2-0. The Hawks' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Cambria Chacon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Shadow Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 17-10-1. As for Highland, their loss dropped their record down to 20-10.

Shadow Ridge skirted past Highland 7-6 when the teams last played back in March of 2022. Do the Stallions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
