Softball Recap: Fort Chiswell Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Fort Chiswell couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 10-0 to the Auburn Eagles on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Pioneers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Fort Chiswell saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lilly Goforth, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Goforth has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Fort Chiswell's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Auburn, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 19-4.

Fort Chiswell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Auburn, they will welcome George Wythe at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
