Softball Recap: Windsor Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Windsor entered their tilt with McKinleyville on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Panthers 6-4.

Kalyse Wacther spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Demi Lagourgue was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Haley Homan, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Windsor pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for McKinleyville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Windsor will take on Maria Carrillo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McKinleyville, they will head out to challenge Lower Lake at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. McKinleyville's pitchers better be ready for this one: Lower Lake has averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
