Softball Recap: Pontotoc Warriors vs. Greenville Hornets

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pontotoc had no problem doing just that on Friday. They beat the Greenville Hornets by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-0. Pontotoc's pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four matchups.

Averi Bridgman made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bridgman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-2 with two RBI and a double.

In other batting news, Kelsy Spears was excellent, going 1-for-2 with a home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Erynn Boddie, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.

Pontotoc has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Greenville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
