Basketball Game Preview: Skyline Hawks vs. Sherando Warriors

Skyline and Sherando are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Skyline Hawks will venture away from home to take on the Sherando Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Skyline's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.

Last Saturday, Skyline made easy work of Buckhannon-Upshur and carried off a 73-52 win. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Sherando unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Nelson County. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Governors 12-8 in the first quarter.

Skyline pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 47.3 points. As for Sherando, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Skyline strolled past Sherando when the teams last played back in January by a score of 74-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Skyline since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
