Preview: Mansfield Christian Flames vs. Crestline Bulldogs
Mansfield Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Crestline Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mansfield Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
Mansfield Christian scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Mapleton, posting a 87-49 victory at home. Mansfield Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 30 points or more this season.
Mansfield Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Amarr Davis, who scored 17 points along with eight assists and six steals, and Davion Mack, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 11 rebounds. Davis is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Dre Martin, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Meanwhile, Crestline ended up a good deal behind Western Reserve on Saturday and lost 71-53. Crestline has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mansfield Christian's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Crestline, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Mansfield Christian against Crestline in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 78-45 win. With Mansfield Christian ahead 45-21 at the half, the game was all but over already.
