Basketball Recap: Western Dubuque Takes a Loss

Western Dubuque was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt an 81-49 loss at the hands of the Kennedy Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Cougars are ranked 72nd).

Western Dubuque's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Kennedy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-8.

Western Dubuque will square off against Dubuque Senior at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Western Dubuque is facing Dubuque Senior at the right time seeing as Dubuque Senior is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Kennedy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Xavier at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Xavier knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Kennedy likes a good challenge.
