Recap: Burncoat Patriots vs. South Colonels
It was a good run, but the Burncoat Patriots unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak dating back to last season on Wednesday. They were beaten by South 78-44. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Burncoat has scored all season.
Burncoat's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jean Carlos Pimental, who scored ten points. Jayden Mwangi was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Burncoat's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-1. As for South, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burncoat will take on North at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. North knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Burncoat likes a good challenge. As for South, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Doherty Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on January 5th. Doherty Memorial is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
