Softball Recap: Portola Comes Up Short

Portola fell victim to Biggs and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Wolverines, falling 10-0. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Tigers, who until this matchup were averaging 3.6 runs allowed.

This is the second loss in a row for Portola and nudges their season record down to 20-5. As for Biggs, their win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-5.

Portola and Biggs should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Tigers (ranked 461st) will meet Plumas Charter (ranked 1018th) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Biggs will face off against Willows at 4:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (452 vs. 1077).
