Softball Recap: Lutheran Northwest Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lutheran Northwest can now relate to. They lost 14-5 to the Bishop Foley Ventures on Saturday. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ventures apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2016.

Alyssa Parets was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kayleigh Fink, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Lutheran Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Bishop Foley, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season.
