Baseball Recap: Avon Takes a Loss

Avon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pavilion Golden Gophers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Gophers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-2 back in April.

Trevor Stroud was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Avon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Pavilion, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Avon will head out on the road to face off against Penn Yan Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pavilion, they will welcome Letchworth at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Legends will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Golden Gophers surely won't give up without a fight.
