Baseball Recap: Teaneck Takes a Loss

Teaneck fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Wood-Ridge on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 7-6.

Jayden Castro and Deyton Walcott stepped up to the plate in a big way. Castro went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Walcott got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Julian Vasquez, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Teaneck's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Wood-Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Teaneck and Wood-Ridge will both be playing Dwight-Englewood the next time they take the field. The Highwaymen will host the Bulldogs at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, while the Blue Devils will host them on Saturday.
