Basketball Recap: Lakeland Starts Season with Win Against Fort Wayne Homeschool

Lakeland took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They blew past the Fort Wayne HomeSchool Hawks 79-34. The Lakers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hawks, too.

When it comes to explaining why Fort Wayne HomeSchool lost, don't look at Grey Chapman. Despite the final result, he went 5-for-8 on his way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Johnson, who posted eight points.

Fort Wayne HomeSchool is on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coming up, Lakeland will host East Noble at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Fort Wayne HomeSchool, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Benton HomeSchool on December 9.
