Baseball Recap: Portola Takes a Loss

Portola saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Cerritos Dons by a score of 5-3.

Portola saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Marinelli, who went 1-for-3 with one double. Yoshi Tsuge also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Portola now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Cerritos, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Portola will challenge Laguna Hills at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Laguna Hills' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Portola's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cerritos, they will square off against Lakewood at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
