Soccer Recap: Freedom Comes Up Short

Freedom was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Alexander Central Cougars. While losing is never fun, Freedom can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while Alexander Central are ranked 165th).

Freedom's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10-1. As for Alexander Central, they pushed their record up to 5-4-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Freedom will head out to challenge Hibriten at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hibriten's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Alexander Central, they are taking a road trip to face off against Ashe County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
