Soccer Recap: Hazleton Area Comes Up Short

After soaring to four goals the game before, Hazleton Area was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They came up short against the Shikellamy Braves, falling 9-1. If Hazleton Area were looking for revenge after losing 14-0 to Shikellamy when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hazleton Area's goal came courtesy of Isabella Ciavarella, who's now up to two this season.

Hazleton Area's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Shikellamy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Hazleton Area will head out to square off against Wilkes-Barre at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Shikellamy, they will look to defend their home pitch on Wednesday against Warrior Run at 7:00 p.m.
