Softball Recap: Stuttgart Comes Up Short

Stuttgart dropped to 9-6 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They lost 18-1 to the Lonoke Jackrabbits. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

As for Lonoke, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

For Lonoke's part, Stuttgart's batters probably weren't too happy with Kendra Terry, who pitched a no hitter and racked up six Ks (she gave up zero walks).

At the plate, Kirsten Holt was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Coraline Spires, who went 1-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

While Stuttgart had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
