Baseball Recap: Commerce Takes a Loss

Commerce fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Lone Oak on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Buffaloes by a score of 8-7. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured 13 defeats in a row.

Jordan McMurray was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Black, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Commerce's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Lone Oak, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-6.

While Commerce had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
