Basketball Recap: Mankato West Takes a Loss

Mankato West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Northfield Raiders, falling 73-41. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-17 back in December of 2024.

Northfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maia Richardson out in front who went 6-for-9 en route to 17 points and six rebounds. Those 17 points gave Richardson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grace Mostad, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 13 points.

Mankato West's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Northfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-7.

Mankato West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 64-35 loss against Red Wing on the 7th. As for Northfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-64 defeat against John Marshall on the 7th.
